MC 38 First Place Finish

This was the first race of the series of Hope Town Sailing Club's winter races. This particular race was a point to point race. From just west of HT around Sandy and Garden cay off of Man O War and back. The wind was a fresh breeze around 15 knots out of the southwest. This made it a beam reach and coming back to the finish a beat to close reach. The MC 38 was averaging 8 to 9 knots. We did finish over 5 minutes ahead of the other boats. My biggest concern was staying away from the other boats on the start as these guys tend to be barging. So I was the last one across the starting line unfortunately we started on the wrong side of the pin. Which actually made my course longer than the rest of the boats. So I did finish the race unofficially first. We did not learn of the mistake at the start until after the end of the race. But got some great pictures.
